4.0 out of 5 stars The shoes were very good looking. However to small
The shoes were very good looking. However to small. My husband wears a 14 but these rubbed against his toes. Too bad. Sorry they just didn’t work. Already returned. Would have been a good support shoe for him since he is 6′ 6. Not a small man . Cannot rate other than looked real good.

The brown shoe fit the wide foot the black shoe did not? Just know the company was amazing with the return process. Cost $5 to return though so if you haven’t tried this shoe on before you may want to do that before ordering.Dr. Comfort is a great shoe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Designed for foot neuropathy,
The best fitting and most comfortable shoe of this type I have ever had, and I have had several. Good quality overall, comes with a reall good pair of inserts (the type that cost 35 bucks at the shoe store!), Yes I certainly do highly reccomend them! Jacamo

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Great Sandal
I personally own four pairs of these and I love them. I have Heel spurs and diabetes to boot. I had two stem cell injections that helped with the spurs. However, my feet hurt and swell on occasion. These sandals provide great comfort and are a pleasure to wear. I even use them as house slippers when I get up in the morning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love them!
Love them! Sometimes I forget that I’m wearing them. I have neuropathy from diabetes and I was used to wearing flip flops all day as they were the only thing I could wear for any length of time. These look much more presentable out in public.

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality
Been wearing them for a few weeks now. Very comfortable fit, but,,,the brown color on the toe is already wearing out! It’s as if I was dragging my toes on the ground, which I’m obviously not doing! For this price I expect these shoes to be a lot more durable.Already look a couple of years old.Ron

2.0 out of 5 stars The shoes are not true to size.
I unfortunately purchased these shoes for my diabetic husband who had just had his left knee replaced. I ordered his usual size but when he was able to walk, he told me that they were too short in length. Now it is too late for an exchange! I’m very disappointed.

These are lovely shoes, just not what my Dad was looking for. He needed more of an open sandal. Returned.

5.0 out of 5 stars these are very comfy
These are amazing sandles, my feet swell as the day goes and I have no discomfort from these sandles. There was a normal cut of the leather lining that was irritating one spot, I took a finger nail file and softened the edge and wha-la now no problem. I kept them on 24-7 for one week ( except to shower) to give them a good test. Have congestive heart failure and must sleep on recliner chair. The inserts that come with are not cheap ones, very well made sandles, inserts,+ foam spacers. I read one review saying there was a fault in a shoe. Lets face it they cannot check each shoe on the line the cost would be passed on. So they sent a return prepaid mailing label, can’t beat that, plus letting me follow a scripted process for breaking them in. There is a restricted return for up to 30 days return. Instructions for breaking in and care of shoe and return policy is included. If you want sandles that don’t feel like you have them on, soft inside. These I recomend worth the price. Looks like if you go through pedorthic medical care, Medicare might pay for them, check with Doc. first.

5.0 out of 5 stars sturdy Fisherman’s sandal for Men with foot issues
Orthofeet and Aetrex are not currently making Fishermen’s, so this is the only game in town with a closed heel. The latter is important to stabilize any kind of insert or cushion. Fortunately, the Dr Comfort appears well-made. It has a very deep area for inserts, so it is good for diabetics whose feet swell, or others with foot issues. The bottom layer is a cushiony sponge, so it is even softer than the Aetrex. I use it with Orthofeet inserts (better than Dr Comfort) plus thin Spencos. Unless and until Orthofeet brings back Fishermen, this is the best option.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good ooking Shoe!
My husband has “boat-maker feet with bunions”. I know lovely! Ordered him this pair of shoes and they just arrived. Put them on immediately and loved them. First tried them without inserts. Nice fit, loose in the footbed, but were OK and could comfortably wear socks. Added gel inserts and very comfortable fit. So then tried some arch supports (not custom but Dr. recommended) and they were perfect! Rarely finds a shoe that he’ll says “perfect”! If you (or your man) has difficult feet, these are highly recommended. Matter of fact – he still has them on and he went to look up more Dr. Comfort shoes!

4.0 out of 5 stars Meant for standing, not walking. Heal folds in on itself if you don’t use fingers/shoe horn
Good shoes, I’m happy. I bought them to replace a pair of Timberland Fisherman’s Shoes which have been discontinued. Comfortable and seems well built with a few exceptions. Bought these to be all-purpose travel shoes, just OK for really active people, great for standing.Meant for standing, not walking. Bottom is slip resistant, but not set up with a hiking grip like other fishermans shoes (you know, for fishing/outdoors?). Gel insert is comfortable and supporting, but becomes exhausting when walking, like walking in sand; buy a hard insert if you want for walking.Heel is pillow like, rather than firm. Collapses in on itself if you try to put it on without fingers or a shoe horn holding it in place.Odd issue, not a flaw, just a design quirk. The slats are in an odd place for my toes, had to trim toenails to keep it from catching one toe.The good: Built well. Fits great for length/width. Comfortable with or without socks. Soft. Looks nice. Sturdy. Includes multiple insert types and a shoe horn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, well-made moc shoe for use around the house or perhaps outdoors in dry weather.
This appears to be a very well made casual moc to wear about the house, which could be worn outside due to its excellent, thick sole. I ordered the right size and it fits well except there is too much depth from top to bottom of the foot dimension. It’s great that they add a pair of quality arch supports which you can insert on your own in the matching size ordered. They also include a pair of blue flat insoles, about 1/4 inch thick, made from dense rubber that allow you to add additional depth to the shoe. But even with both sets of insoles installed, I still found too much wiggle room. This excess depth can be taken up to a large degree by tightening the two Velcro instep straps, one of each side, but I’m worried once the leather breaks in over time, this shoe will become too loose which cannot be tightened fully. The alternative will be to insert a thicker pair of base insoles under the arch support insoles. But overall it’s a quality item but a tad overpriced IMHO.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a regular sandal
Its a nice looking shoe but Just a regular shoe with a foam style orthotic insole. The insole appeared to be just like the ones sold at the drug store. Remove the insole and it’s just a normal shoe

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost great shoes
These shoes look like pretty good value for money, and indeed the upper part of the sandals, buckles, velcro staps are all well made, and the uppers are sewed to the soles, which is important, because if they are only glued, the shoes will soon fall apart, especially in warm weather. However the soles are not very comfortable and somewhat uncomfortable on rough sidewalks. I have a worn out pair of Rockport sandals, and the soles are oh so comfortable (although the uppers are not well made) so it is doable. The sizing is possibly a little bit small as per United States sizing. The problem is that the shoes come to a taper at the toe end, so the last inch or inch-and-a-half cannot be easily used by the toes–at least not if you have wide feet. One solution would be to buy shoes one size larger than what you think you need.I have put a second pair of insoles in my shoes which makes them more comfortable, but takes up space. I would recommend applying a thick coating of vaseline jelly both inside and outside for the first 7 days, then warming the shoes with a hair dryer or gas stove, then pushing glass jars or medicine containers inside the shoes to stretch and soften them. I have done this and my shoes are already softer.Whomever has designed these shoes has done a very promising job, and next time they might be able to do even better and make a really great shoe, but as they stand they are fair value for money, considering that many decent orthopedic type shoes are three times the price, so it is probably worth working to customize them and spending a bit make them more comfortable. The image shows the shoes being stretched after application of vaseline jelly and heat.Note added July 18th 2022: The price of these shoes has more than doubled since I bought mine, so I don’t think they represent the same value now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great
My husband bought his first pair from the podiatrist. These are the same shoes. His first pair needs a good polish. They still work, just wanted a newer looking pair. He wore them straight out of the box on vacation and didn’t have any problems at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a shoe that fits!
My husband has a high instep, wide foot base but narrow heel. These shoes fit him perfectly with a good sole that will hold up. It came with two inserts to self-adjust how you want the inside to fit. He used the formed instep and put the foam one in another pair of shoes he bought! Very pleased to find a good shoe for him. We have sent many back of other brands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome shoes
I have a high instep. It’s hard to find shoes that allow my foot to slide into opening. The strap on top has Velcro on both sides. Allows me to get into the shoe easily. The extra depth is also nice. They provide 2 insert types. Their one with gel heel nice but eliminates that extra depth. So I used my own footbed (superfeet). I’ll use the gel footbed in another pair of boots. So far I am super happy with these shoes. Will buy more.

2.0 out of 5 stars WELL MADE BUT LACKING IN COMFORT
Very well made but by no means lightweight. I was looking for a comfortable shoe sandal and am disappointed in that regard. For the price I wrongly assumed I would receive much more comfort than these shoes offer. After almost two weeks, the leather uppers are still stiff and hopefully will soften after some more wear. This would eliminate the discomfort at the sides of my feet and tops of my toes. The shoes are sized properly with adequate room inside but after two hours I must take these shoes off. I have no foot issues and shoes that are half the price of these Dr. Comforts were more comfortable when new and are even more so after use.The shoe color for “chestnut” is in fact a medium to dark brown–actually the same color as the side of the shoe sole and the upper suede edging around the ankle. Photos for the “chestnut” show a tan color which these actual shoes are not. Not a problem for me, but be aware of this discrepancy if you desire the color as shown online. The label in the shoes states they are “Designed in USA made in China.”This was my first mail order shoe. I think I will resume making future selections at shoe stores.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable.
I ordered two pairs. One was missing the insoles. I replaced both with aftermarket Dr. Scholls’ orthotic insoles. The shoes are comfortable. This is my third pair. I really enjoy these shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a heavy but super comfortable sandal. Good protection for sensitive feet.
The fit and the comfort with the good protection are why this is my 3rd pair. The leather cleans easily with a wet rag. The availability of a extra wide is a huge plus for me. The sandal is deep enough for the included padded insole or a custom orthotic without cramping sensitive toes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too tight; want my refund
My husband has narrow to medium width. These shoes were too tight to put his foot in. He couldn’t slide his foot all the way into the sandal. I was disappointed because they looked great. He’s diabetic and he has neuropathy so I was really hopeful that these would be very comfortable for him. Oh, well. Returned them 2 weeks ago and still waiting for the refund.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Comfort Fisherman Men’s Therapeutic Diabetic Extra Depth Sandal Leather
These sandals are very high quality leather and wonderful protection for diabetic feet. They come with inserts to go in them that are a little weird feeling without socks. Also the shoe fit is loose, but the insoles makes them closer. They are pricey at around $140, but again the quality looks awesome so they should last for many years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shoes
Shoes allow my orthotics and my feet like roomy shoes. Two things don’t like. Shoes are stiff but I assume they will soften with use. Velcro closure mechanism will wear out quickly and the straps are too short to allow adjustments so I can slip shoes off and on easily.
